Who is responsible

Essential Apps LLC, registered in Sharjah Media City, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, under licence number 1906623.01, is the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

What this policy covers

This policy covers this corporate website, essentialapps.io, only.

Our products and services — including Keyword Tool — have their own privacy policies, which govern the information collected there. Third-party websites we link to have their own policies too, and we are not responsible for them.

Information we collect

This is a simple informational website. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell anything on it. We collect personal information in only three situations.

a. When you use the contact form

We collect the name, email address, subject and message you enter. All four fields are required in order to send the message.

b. When you apply to join us

We collect the name, email address, subject and motivation letter you enter, together with the CV you attach. A CV typically contains further personal information such as your work history, education, and contact details — whatever you choose to include is up to you. Please do not include sensitive information (for example about health, religion, or political opinions) in your application; we do not need it.

c. Automatically, when you visit any page

Like any website, ours is reached over the internet, so our hosting provider processes technical data as part of delivering the page and protecting the site from abuse. This includes your IP address, the page requested, the date and time, your browser type and language, and the referring page. These records are short-lived and are used for security and reliability, not to build a profile of you.

We also run Google Ads conversion tracking (the Google tag, gtag.js) on every page. It loads from Google’s servers and lets us measure how our advertising performs — for example, whether a visit that started with one of our ads led to you contacting us. For this, Google receives your IP address, information about your browser and device, the pages you view on this site, and identifiers stored in cookies or similar technologies, and may connect that activity to your interaction with a Google ad. Google processes this data for us as our service provider, and in some circumstances also for its own purposes under its own terms.

We use no general website analytics, and there are no social media or other advertising trackers on the site.

How we use your information

We use the information described above to:

• read and reply to the message you send us through the contact form;
• assess your job application, contact you about it, and discuss opportunities with you;
• keep the site secure and available, and detect, prevent and investigate spam, abuse and attacks;
• comply with legal obligations, and establish, exercise or defend legal claims where necessary.

We do not sell or rent your personal information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to send you marketing without your consent.

Our legal bases

Where the UAE Personal Data Protection Law, the EU or UK GDPR, or a similar law applies to our processing, we rely on the following legal bases:

• Your consent — when you choose to fill in and submit a form, you give us the information voluntarily so that we can respond. You may withdraw your consent at any time (see section 11).
• Steps taken at your request before entering a contract — for handling a job application.
• Our legitimate interests — in running, securing and maintaining our website, in responding to enquiries about our business, and in recruiting for our team.
• Legal obligation — where we are required by law to retain or disclose information.
• Measuring our advertising — for the Google Ads tag described in sections 3 and 6. Where the law that applies to you requires your consent before advertising cookies are set, that consent is the basis for it, and you can withdraw it at any time using the controls in section 6.

Cookies and analytics

We do not use website analytics, and there are no social media trackers on this site. Two things here do use cookies, and both are described below.

Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, may set a strictly necessary cookie to identify trusted traffic and to protect the site from malicious visitors. It is used for security only, not for tracking or advertising.

Google Ads conversion tracking does use cookies and similar technologies (for example _gcl_au, which is stored on this domain rather than Google’s) to recognise a visit that arrived from one of our ads and to attribute a conversion to it. These are advertising cookies, not strictly necessary ones.

You can control them through your browser’s cookie settings, or through Google’s own Ads Settings, where you can turn off ad personalisation for your Google account. Blocking these cookies does not affect your ability to use this site.

Who we share information with

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run this site and our correspondence, and only as far as they need it:

• Cloudflare, Inc. — hosting, content delivery, security, and delivery of form submissions by email.
• Microsoft Corporation — the email service our team uses to receive and reply to your message or application.
• Google LLC and Google Ireland Limited — Google Ads conversion tracking, which measures how our advertising performs.

We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law, by a court, or by a competent authority, or where it is necessary to protect our rights, our users, or the security of our systems. If our business is ever reorganised, merged or acquired, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, and this policy will continue to apply to it.

International transfers

We operate from the United Arab Emirates, and the providers listed above operate globally. Your information may therefore be processed in countries other than your own, including in the United States and the European Union. Where such a transfer is subject to the GDPR or a similar law, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, which our providers offer.

How long we keep it

• Contact form messages — kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records, normally up to 24 months.
• Job applications — kept for up to 12 months after we have finished considering your application, so that we can contact you about a suitable future opening. Ask us and we will delete yours sooner.
• Technical and security logs — kept only briefly, in line with our hosting provider’s retention periods.

We delete or anonymise personal information once we no longer need it, unless we are required to keep it by law.

How we protect it

The site is served over encrypted HTTPS connections, form submissions are transmitted securely, and access to the mailbox that receives them is limited to the people at Essential Apps who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — please do not send us sensitive information through a web form.

Your rights

Subject to the law that applies to you, you may have the right to:

• access the personal information we hold about you, and receive a copy of it;
• correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
• delete your information, where we have no overriding reason to keep it;
• restrict or object to our processing of it, including processing based on our legitimate interests;
• receive your information in a portable format, or have it transferred to another controller;
• withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing that has already taken place;
• complain to your data protection authority — in the UAE, the UAE Data Office.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 14. We will respond within the period required by applicable law, and we may need to verify your identity first. Exercising your rights is free, and we will never treat you differently for doing so.

Children

This website is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us their information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to our practices or to legal requirements. The version published on this page is the one in force, and the date at the top shows when it was last changed. Where a change is significant, we will make that clear on the site.
